Hobbies Save Your Mind

Hello everyone!
Again, I've been MIA while writing for NanoWrimo. If you aren't familiar with it, it is a challenge to write a novel with 50,000 words by the end of the month. It's been so fun and I love that it pushes me to make time to write every single day. But fear not, I have not forgotten about you.

Today I want to encourage you to find a hobby. For me, it has been a lot of fun to write, but to also crochet. I'm a novice in both writing and crocheting, but I believe it will only get better. Maybe you can learn to paint, or play an instrument or get involved with a fitness class. With the weather getting colder, (and cruel if you live in Chicago or north of Illinois) it helps to find something that makes you happy. For me, colder weather makes me really sad. Honestly, there's not much I enjoy about winter weather, but crocheting and writing have given me breaks to stop being negative and whiny, and to focus my energy on creating something new.

Sometimes, curling up with a book by the fireplace is also one of my other favorite winter activities. As cold as it is outside, there's still lots of fun things you can do to keep yourself occupied and to prevent your mind from slipping into the dark side of compiling and groaning. It's still hard for me to snap out of my negativity, but I'm still learning and hoping that I embrace all stages of the changing seasons. Stay warm and go find something that makes you super happy.

Peace and love always,
Chloe
